About Future Debris

This is a newsletter for speculative fiction—both reading and writing it— following my love for works that sit at the “literary” & “genre” edges.

I’ll share my own in-progress fiction, book suggestions and opinions, dissections of craft (including too many references to POV), and once in a while, updates about my own life—as well as upcoming classes.

About Me

Hi, I’m Amanda Kallis. I’m a speculative fiction writer with an MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. My work has appeared in Catapult, the Black Warrior Review (nonfiction contest winner), McSweeney's Internet Tendency, The Cincinnati Review, and elsewhere. I’ve taught creative writing courses at the University of Toronto’s School of Continuing Studies, Catapult, the University of Iowa, and elsewhere. I tend to write about weird technologies, body horror, intimacy, and memory. Sometimes I write poetry and nonfiction, too.
